Newly released CCTV footage from inside the Red Fort Metro station reveals the moments of chaos and panic that ensued during the deadly car blast near Delhi's Red Fort. The explosion, which occurred on Monday, November 10, 2025, killed 13 people and injured several others.
The footage, extracted from internal surveillance cameras, depicts the routine activity of commuters inside the station just before the blast. People are seen walking, and some are at a food counter. Suddenly, a violent tremor shakes the station at the precise moment the explosion occurs at a nearby traffic signal. Objects inside the station rattle, and passengers are visibly jolted as the shock reverberates through the structure.
The video captures the instinctive reactions of commuters as they realize the gravity of the situation. Many are seen panicking and rushing further inside the station, seeking safety from the apparent danger. A police officer is also visible in the frame, directing the movement of commuters during the explosion.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced that the Red Fort metro station will remain closed until further notice, pending a thorough security review and investigation. Security agencies are analyzing CCTV footage from the blast site, surrounding areas, and the metro station to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the detonation.
The blast involved a white Hyundai i20 car that exploded near a traffic signal on the Netaji Subhash Marg near the Red Fort. The impact of the explosion damaged several nearby vehicles.
Delhi Police have filed a case under sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Kotwali Police Station.
Umar Un Nabi and Muzammil Shakil, two doctors working at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, are at the center of investigations. Umar is suspected to have been driving the car that exploded, while Muzammil Shakil was recently arrested during raids in Faridabad as part of a crackdown on an alleged “white-collar” terror network. Adeel Ahmad Rather, another doctor arrested in the Faridabad case, is believed to have played an active role in planning the Red Fort operation alongside Umar Un Nabi.
The investigation has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed that those behind the Delhi explosion would not be spared and that everyone involved would be brought to justice. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed strict action against those responsible.
