Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella is scheduled to begin a three-day visit to India on December 10, 2025. This marks Nadella's second visit to India this year. During his visit, he will travel to Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

In Delhi on December 10, Nadella is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, and other senior government officials. Following Delhi, he will be in Bengaluru on December 11 and Mumbai on December 12.

The Microsoft CEO is also scheduled to address two AI-related conferences in Bengaluru and Mumbai. This visit underscores the growing importance of the Indian market for global tech companies, particularly in the rapidly expanding field of artificial intelligence.

Nadella's engagement with India has been highly visible. During his previous visit in January, he announced that Microsoft would invest $3 billion over the next two years in India in cloud, artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and skilling. The investment aimed to bolster India's position as a leader in AI innovation. Microsoft also plans to skill 10 million Indians by 2030.

Microsoft's AI assistant, Copilot, has gained significant traction in India, along with other platforms like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, and Elon Musk's Grok. These AI tools have seen a surge in popularity across the country.

The visit occurs amidst a complex trade environment where the Indian government is actively promoting local apps and services. Some Indian companies, like Zoho, offer cheaper alternatives to Microsoft's cloud-based software.

During his December visit, Nadella is expected to meet with key customers and connect with Microsoft's over 20,000 employees located in 10 cities across India.
