Following a period of heightened tensions and cross-border strikes, the announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan has been met with relief and cautious optimism from various quarters, including Bollywood. Several celebrities have taken to social media to express their reactions, ranging from calls for sustained peace to assertions of national pride.

Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her gratitude to the Indian armed forces. She had earlier saluted their bravery and commitment to national security, posting a picture with a message of unity against terrorism. Following the ceasefire announcement, Kareena shared "Rab Rakha" and "Jai Hind" on her Instagram Story.

Parineeti Chopra, amid rising tensions, urged citizens to rely on verified sources and avoid spreading fake news, emphasizing responsible reporting. She cautioned against misinformation that could incite panic. On her Instagram Story, Chopra wrote, "The worst we can do right now is spread fake news and terrify the people who are watching. Let's rely on official updates and nothing else. Report Responsibly Jai Hind,". She also offered a spiritual note, writing "Om Namah Shivaay" on her Instagram Story.

Raveena Tandon was among the first to react, expressing a mix of relief and unwavering support for her country. In an Instagram post, she stated, "#ceasefire But few things are pretty clear. I will support my country in ways that as a citizen I can. #mycountrymylife #bharatforever. This has shown us who are friends and not. My country's enemy is mine. The world must act against terrorism and fast". She emphasized that "Bharat should never bleed again". Tandon also warned that any future acts of state-sponsored terrorism would be considered an act of war.

Other celebrities also joined in expressing their views. Ananya Panday showed her support with a folded hands emoji on her Instagram Story. Malaika Arora shared a post on Instagram, writing, "Thank God!". Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan also supported the ceasefire agreement.

However, some celebrities also used the opportunity to address the media's role in escalating tensions. Sonakshi Sinha criticized news channels for sensationalizing the conflict with over-dramatized visuals and sound effects, urging them to report facts responsibly and avoid creating panic.

The ceasefire announcement followed a period of intense conflict, including a devastating terror attack in Pahalgam. Retaliatory strikes and cross-border escalations had created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. The US President announced that both nations had agreed to a "FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE," with the US acting as mediator.

While the news of the ceasefire has been widely welcomed, some have pointed out that it could have come sooner. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that lives could have been saved if the ceasefire had been implemented earlier. He urged the state administration to expedite relief measures for affected civilians, including medical attention and compensation for damages.
