In a gesture of respect and gratitude towards the armed forces following the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian Railways has announced several initiatives to honor the war heroes. These initiatives include playing patriotic jingles after announcements at railway stations and earmarking seats for defense personnel in trains and waiting areas.
To mark the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and honor war heroes, the Railways will play patriotic jingles after announcements at stations. Stations will also showcase inspiring stories, notable events, and photographs of local heroes and award winners. The caller tune of the railway helpline number '139' now shares the achievements of the operation against cross-border terrorism.
The Railways have announced that designated seats on platforms and waiting rooms will be reserved for soldiers. Benches at stations and platforms, and seats in trains will be designated for personnel of the armed forces. These will cover all general, sleeper, 3AC, 2AC, and 1AC coaches. The intent behind these initiatives is to show respect to those who save us by risking their lives.
The initiative also includes having exterior wraps on coaches to showcase the operation's success. The national transporter has started these activities at several stations, and these will be extended to others as well. Around 200 railway stations have been illuminated in tricolour shades to commemorate 'Operation Sindoor'. Indian Railways is featuring messaging related to 'Operation Sindoor' on its e-tickets along with a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The message on the e-tickets reads, “Operation Sindoor has drawn a new line in the fight against terror… a new standard, a new normal has been set.” The messaging is also being highlighted on the IRCTC website, which is currently streaming a documentary film featuring footage from the conflicts in Uri, Pulwama, and Pahalgam. The documentary also includes silent scenes of Prime Minister Modi holding meetings with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and others.
Indian Railways saluted the bravery and courage of the Indian Army by illuminating railway stations across India in the Tricolour on May 13. Railway stations across the country lit up in a radiant tribute, expressing deep gratitude towards the brave soldiers. Railway stations came alive with soul-stirring patriotic visuals, reigniting a profound sense of national pride.
These initiatives reflect the deep respect and appreciation the nation holds for its armed forces and their sacrifices. By integrating these tributes into the everyday experience of train travel, Indian Railways aims to keep the spirit of patriotism alive and ensure that the valor of the soldiers who participated in Operation Sindoor is remembered and honored by all citizens.
