Phoebe Dynevor, known for her role in "Bridgerton," recently starred in the espionage thriller "Inheritance," directed by Neil Burger. A significant portion of the film was shot in various international locations, including a bustling market in Delhi, India. Burger has shared insights into the unique experience of filming in such a vibrant and crowded environment, highlighting the advantages of using a minimalist approach with an iPhone.

According to Burger, one of the most memorable aspects of shooting in Delhi was a motorcycle chase sequence filmed on open roads. The production team meticulously planned the route, aiming to capture the authenticity of the city by integrating real-life elements. The goal was to immerse Dynevor in the actual environment, allowing her to interact with the everyday hustle and bustle of Delhi. Burger noted that this approach added a layer of realism to the film, as Dynevor's character navigates through genuine interactions and spontaneous moments.

Burger explained that the decision to film with an iPhone and a small crew was deliberate. He wanted the production to blend into the background, minimizing disruption and allowing the team to capture the city's essence without drawing excessive attention. By avoiding traditional film equipment like large cameras, boom mics, and extensive lighting, they aimed to observe the world through the lens rather than having the world observe them as a film crew. This strategy also eliminated the need for extensive permissions, granting them greater creative freedom.

The director recounted how they were able to shoot full dialogue scenes on an airplane and capture the motorcycle chase in Delhi with just an iPhone. The compact setup allowed for greater intimacy with Dynevor, enabling close-up shots without the obstruction or shadows caused by larger cameras. Burger believed this intimacy enhanced Dynevor's performance, capturing nuanced emotions and reactions.

Dynevor herself has spoken about the "guerrilla style" of filming, emphasizing the realism of shooting in Delhi's streets with real traffic, cars, and tuk-tuks. She admitted that weaving in and out of traffic was genuinely terrifying, which added to the authenticity of her performance. The actress stars as Maya, a woman grieving her mother's death who becomes entangled in an international conspiracy after her estranged father, played by Rhys Ifans, reappears.

"Inheritance" takes viewers on a fast-paced adventure across New York, Cairo, New Delhi, and Seoul. The film is about Maya learning that her father is a spy. It explores themes of family secrets, legacy, and global espionage.
