Rajkummar Rao's latest film, "Bhool Chuk Maaf," which translates to "Forgive Mistakes," has been released in theaters on May 23, 2025. The romantic comedy, directed by Karan Sharma, stars Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, and also features veteran actors like Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, and Raghubir Yadav. The film's journey to the big screen was not without its twists and turns, initially slated for a theatrical release, then considered for an OTT platform, and finally confirmed for cinemas after some delays.
However, beyond the film's narrative and Rajkummar Rao's performance, what stands out is the actor's unwavering respect and admiration for the Indian Army. This sentiment was particularly highlighted in the wake of recent events that shook the nation.
In response to the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, a decisive retaliatory strike. This operation, targeting terror camps across the border, garnered widespread support, including heartfelt reactions from celebrities like Rajkummar Rao and Nimrat Kaur.
Speaking at a recent event, Rajkummar Rao expressed his solidarity and reflected on the importance of national unity. "We wholeheartedly stand by our administration's decisions. What happened should never have occurred—it has left us all deeply saddened and outraged. In moments like these, we come together as a nation, united in grief and pride. Our armed forces make us immensely proud," the "Bhool Chuk Maaf" actor stated.
During the interaction, Rao was asked about an alternate career path if acting hadn't been his calling. His response resonated deeply with patriotic fervor: "Since I was little, this is the only thing I've wanted to do, and I've worked hard only towards this. I've never thought of a Plan B… But if I have to choose hypothetically, I think I would be in the armed forces. I get very fascinated seeing soldiers."
This isn't the first time Rajkummar Rao has publicly acknowledged his admiration for the armed forces. His consistent support and respect reflect a broader feeling of gratitude and admiration for those who serve on the frontlines.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is also set to collaborate with director Shoojit Sircar for a satirical comedy, with shooting expected to begin towards the end of 2025. The director is currently looking for another actor to star alongside Rajkummar in this project. Besides this, Rajkummar is also working on two projects for his home production company, KAMPA Films, which will be released on Netflix.
"Bhool Chuk Maaf" is produced by Maddock Films, Amazon MGM Studios, and PVR Inox. The film is described as a light-hearted family entertainer.
