The iconic television show "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" is making a comeback with its second season, and Smriti Irani, who played the beloved character of Tulsi Virani, is all set to reprise her role. According to recent reports, Smriti Irani has commenced shooting for "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" amidst tight security arrangements, including Z Plus security.

The return of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" has generated considerable excitement among fans who eagerly anticipate the revival of the classic family drama. The original series, which aired from 2000 to 2008, was a cultural phenomenon that captivated audiences with its engaging storyline and relatable characters. The show revolved around the life of Tulsi Virani, a devoted daughter-in-law who navigates the complexities of a large Gujarati joint family.

Given Smriti Irani's current status as a prominent politician, security measures have been heightened on the set of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2." In addition to Z Plus security for Irani, strict protocols are being enforced, including restrictions on mobile phone usage for most of the cast and crew. Sources reveal that mobile phones, excluding those of Amar Upadhyay, Smriti Irani, and Ekta Kapoor, will be taped to prevent leaks and maintain confidentiality.

Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the show, had earlier hinted at the return of Smriti Irani to the sequel, teasing the inclusion of a "politician" on board. While neither Smriti Irani nor Amar Upadhyay has officially confirmed their involvement, the prospect of their return has further fueled anticipation for the show. Amar Upadhyay is also expected to reprise his role in the sequel.

"Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" not only dominated Indian television for eight years but also subtly addressed social issues such as widow remarriage, inheritance rights, and the roles of women within patriarchal families. The show's success paved the way for other soap operas and sparked discussions about its social impact.

Adding to the excitement, Mouni Roy and Karishma Tanna, who were part of the original cast, may also appear in the sequel for extended cameos. Their inclusion would further enhance the nostalgic appeal of the show and create an interesting dynamic within the storyline.

The reboot of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" will reportedly be shot at the same location as the original series, evoking a sense of nostalgia for longtime fans. The show is expected to open with the iconic scene of Tulsi welcoming viewers into her home while introducing her family. Ekta Kapoor and her team are expected to make an official announcement about the reboot in June 2025, heightening anticipation across generations. Unlike other daily soaps, KSBKBT season 2 will be a limited series, as Smriti Irani has allocated certain dates for the shoot.
