In a shocking incident in West Bengal's Malda district, a woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her nephew and concealing his dismembered body within a cement wall at her father's residence. The gruesome discovery unfolded after the victim, Saddam Nadab, a labor contractor, was reported missing on May 18, 2025. He had left home on his scooter and never returned, raising concerns among his family.

Saddam had been residing with his paternal aunt by marriage, Moumita Hasan Nadab, in Malda. The two were reportedly working together, and according to police reports, they were allegedly involved in an affair. The investigation took a dramatic turn when Moumita confessed to the heinous crime during interrogation.

Moumita reportedly told the police that she had killed Saddam and subsequently cut his body into three pieces. She then encased the remains in cement beneath the stairs of her father's home. Acting on this information, law enforcement officials recovered Saddam's body, which was wrapped in plastic and concrete, from the residence in the Tapan area of Dinajpur district.

While Moumita initially claimed that Saddam had been blackmailing her with explicit photographs, which she stated drove her to commit the murder, the police suspect a different motive. According to investigators, the primary reason behind the murder appears to be financial. As a labor contractor, Saddam was believed to be in possession of a significant amount of money, potentially amounting to lakhs of rupees, leading authorities to believe that a dispute over these funds may have triggered the tragic events.

A formal murder case has been registered, and a thorough investigation is currently underway. Moumita remains in police custody as the investigation progresses. Additionally, authorities are questioning her husband to determine if he had any involvement in the crime or knowledge of the events that transpired.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the complexities of interpersonal relationships and the potential for financial disputes to escalate into violence. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the police continue to piece together the events leading up to Saddam Nadab's murder.
