Akshay Kumar's "Housefull 5" is dominating the box office, with early estimates suggesting it's well on its way to hitting the ₹100 crore milestone in its first week. The movie has been performing strongly since its release, exceeding expectations and showcasing the enduring appeal of the "Housefull" franchise.
On its third day, Sunday, June 8, 2025, "Housefull 5" continued its successful run. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned ₹25.25 crore on day 3. While this represents an approximate 18.55% drop in earnings compared to Saturday, the overall occupancy rate remained strong at 40.43%. Early trends suggested the film would collect between ₹30-31 crore on Sunday. Night updates indicated a solid ₹31-33 crore net, bringing the first weekend total to approximately ₹87-89 crore net.
Several regions across India have shown high occupancy rates, including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Ahmedabad, with a high number of screenings. The film's success is further amplified by the fact that it has been released with two different endings, adding a unique element of surprise and encouraging repeat viewings.
The opening weekend numbers of "Housefull 5" have surpassed those of several other Bollywood films released in 2025, with the exception of "Chhaava". Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted the smashing Saturday performance, attributing it to the #EidAlAdha holiday, which further boosted business. He also pointed out that the audience's approval is loud and clear. He added that the "Housefull" franchise remains critic-proof, with negativity and trolling failing to impact its box office performance.
On its second day, the film's India Net Collection was ₹55 crore. Its Worldwide Collection was ₹87 crore, while its Overseas Collection was ₹22 crore on the same day. The India Gross Collection was ₹65 crore on day 2.
"Housefull 5" has also outperformed Kamal Haasan's "Thug Life" by a significant margin. The movie opened with ₹24 crore and saw a rise of 29.1% on Saturday, minting ₹31 crore.
The strong performance of "Housefull 5" is not only evident in its domestic collections but also in its global numbers. With major multiplex chains running numerous shows per day, the film has garnered substantial attention and viewership.
Prior to its release, "Housefull 5" had already generated significant buzz, with promising advance booking trends. The film collected ₹8 crore gross in advance booking for its opening day, with ₹5.67 crore contributed by version 5A and ₹2.35 crore by version 5B.
With its current momentum, "Housefull 5" is expected to maintain a strong performance throughout the weekdays. If it holds well, it has a good chance of emerging as a HIT at the box office.
