The tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad has had far-reaching consequences, impacting not only the families of the deceased but also witnesses to the horrific event. Among those deeply affected is Aryan Asari, a 17-year-old who inadvertently filmed the crash on his mobile phone. In the days following the disaster, Aryan has returned to his native village in Aravalli to resume his studies, hoping to find solace and a sense of normalcy amidst the trauma.

Aryan had arrived in Ahmedabad on June 12, the same day as the crash, to purchase textbooks for his Class 12 studies. He had accompanied his father, a retired army personnel working as a security guard for the Ahmedabad Metro, to their rented accommodation near the airport. Curious about the planes flying overhead, Aryan went to the terrace and began recording a video, intending to show it to his friends. However, his innocent curiosity soon turned into a nightmare as he captured the final moments of Air India flight AI171.

Speaking to the media, Aryan recounted the terrifying experience. "When the plane started descending, I thought it was going to land on the other side of the airport. Then it crashed and burst into flames right in front of my eyes. It was terrifying," he said. His video quickly went viral, providing the first visual perspective of the tragedy and turning him into an accidental witness to a national disaster.

The impact of witnessing the crash has been profound for Aryan. He described feeling scared and shaken, unable to eat or speak for hours after the incident. His sister told news agencies that Aryan expressed his wish to leave the area, feeling it was no longer safe. The police recorded his statement as an eyewitness, confirming that he cooperated fully with the investigation.

Recognizing the need for a supportive environment, Aryan's family decided to send him back to their village to focus on his studies. "He had come to Ahmedabad for the first time and within hours of his arrival, he ended up witnessing such a horrific event," said Kailashba, the house owner where Aryan's father was staying. "He is leaving for his native place to resume studies."

Despite being away from the immediate site of the tragedy, Aryan continues to grapple with the psychological trauma. The images of the burning aircraft, the chaos, and the helpless screams remain vivid in his mind. He hopes that returning to the familiar surroundings of his village and focusing on his education will help him overcome the experience.

The Air India crash, which claimed the lives of 241 people, has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on Aryan Asari. His accidental recording serves as a stark reminder of the human cost of such disasters, while his return to his studies represents a resilient effort to find healing and reclaim a sense of normalcy in the face of unimaginable tragedy. As the investigation into the crash continues, Aryan's experience highlights the importance of providing support and care not only to the victims' families but also to those who, through unforeseen circumstances, become witnesses to such devastating events.
