The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2025 took place on Saturday, June 21st, bringing a tidal wave of slime, star-studded appearances, and unforgettable moments to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Hosted by the Grammy Award-winning Tyla, the event lived up to its reputation as the "biggest party of the summer," delivering a night of high-energy performances, legendary stunts, and plenty of surprises for kids and families alike.
One of the night's biggest highlights was the appearance of skateboarding icon Tony Hawk, alongside Katelyn West. The duo revved up the crowd with an on-stage skateboarding stunt before presenting the award for "Favorite Kids TV Show" to the cast of The Thundermans: Undercover. Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin, stars of The Thundermans: Undercover, accepted their KCA Blimps with a generous sliming.
Machine Gun Kelly (mgk) also took center stage, performing "cliché" from his upcoming album, Lost Americana. His performance, introduced by his daughter Casie Baker, culminated in a memorable sliming. Adding to the musical excitement, global girl group KATSEYE performed "Gnarly" from their upcoming EP, Beautiful Chaos, introduced by Ice Spice, which ended in a massive cannon sliming.
Beyond the performances and awards, the Kids' Choice Awards 2025 included several unique segments. Nickelodeon Our World honored Los Angeles kids, showcasing how skateboarding has positively impacted their lives by fostering community and teaching valuable skills. SeanDoesMagic wowed the audience with a disappearing act in the Slime Lounge, reappearing at Nickelodeon Universe in the Mall of America, where viewers voted live on which ride he should experience, with the SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge winning.
Adding to the night's honorees, Rihanna received the first-ever "ICON" Silver Blimp Award for her contributions to entertainment, beauty, and activism. She accepted the Blimp from inside a Smurf Village before unleashing a tidal wave of blue slime. Comedy icon Jack Black was honored with a special "King of Comedy" Silver Blimp, celebrating his career in film, television, and music.
Other notable moments included Samantha Lorraine and Jacob Rodriguez, stars of the upcoming Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado, embarking on a quest to find Dora's missing Backpack, with the audience voting live on its location. Tyla closed out the show with a final, centerstage sliming.
Celebrity appearances included Malia Baker, Benny Blanco, Kylie Cantrall, Auli'i Cravalho, Terry Crews, Young Dylan, Brie Garcia, Maia Kealoha, Salish Matter, Kel Mitchell, Daniella Monet, Renee Montgomery, Victoria Monét, Leon Thomas, and Alex Warren.
Winners of the night included Sabrina Carpenter, who took home three awards, including favorite song and favorite album. Ariana Grande won favorite movie for Wicked, and Jack Black won favorite movie actor for his role in A Minecraft Movie. The Thundermans: Undercover won favorite Kids TV show, and XO, Kitty won favorite family TV show.
