Smriti Mandhana etched her name in the history books on Saturday, June 28, 2025, becoming the first Indian woman to score a century in all formats of international cricket. This remarkable feat was achieved during India's first T20I match against England in Nottingham.

Mandhana's blistering innings saw her reach her maiden T20I century in just 51 balls. En route to her century, she hit 14 fours and 3 sixes, showcasing her aggressive intent and dominance over the English bowling attack. She ultimately scored 112 runs off 62 balls at a striking strike rate of 180.65. With this feat, Mandhana joined Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont of England, Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa, and Beth Mooney of Australia as the only five players to have achieved this milestone in women's cricket.

Prior to this match, Mandhana's highest score in T20Is was 87. She has played 138 T20 matches and has scored 3,589 runs in her T20 career, with an average of 30. In her ODI career, she has played 99 matches to date and has scored 4,292 runs, with an average of 46.

In this game against England, India won the toss, and elected to bat first. Mandhana and Shafali Verma opened the innings strongly, building a 77-run partnership. Mandhana then forged a 94-run partnership with Harleen Deol, propelling India to a formidable total of 210/5 in their 20 overs.

While Harmanpreet Kaur has a T20I century, Mandhana is the only Indian woman to score a century in all three formats. She had previously scored a Test century against Australia in 2021 and an ODI century against Australia in Hobart in 2016.

Mandhana's achievement is a testament to her dedication and talent. She was named the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2018 and 2021, and the Wisden India Cricketer of the Year in 2019. Mithali Raj has described Mandhana as a player who can change the game in a matter of overs.

Smriti Mandhana, born on July 18, 1996, is an Indian international cricketer and the vice-captain of the national team. In domestic cricket, she represents Maharashtra. She also plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women's Premier League.

With the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 on the horizon, Mandhana's experience and form will be crucial for India's chances. Fans are eager to see her continue her stellar form on the world stage.
