In a recent heartfelt message, television actress Rashami Desai shared that she has been "going through a lot" and is facing undue judgment. The actress, known for her roles in "Uttaran," "Dil Se Dil Tak," and her participation in "Bigg Boss," expressed her feelings in a video, revealing she has been feeling "weird" and dealing with health concerns recently.
Desai also voiced her concern about the state of the world and a sense of disconnect from the struggles of those around her. She questioned why she was unaware of the challenges faced by people close to her amidst her personal struggles. "I am also facing a lot of judgments for no reason. I don't know why people I know are going through a lot and I am not aware of it," she stated. She further inquired, "Do you also face this — where people you know, or people who are very close to you, are going through something and you're not aware of it because you have your own struggles?".
Desai's statement follows her recent defense of Parag Tyagi, the husband of late actress Shefali Jariwala, who was trolled for walking his dog shortly after his wife's sudden demise. Desai, who shared the "Bigg Boss 13" house with Jariwala, condemned the trolls and urged people to be kind and empathetic. "Aree bhaiya, let's spread kindness and compassion instead of judgment! Simba was more than just a pet - he was Shefali's beloved son," she wrote on her Instagram story. She emphasized the void left by Jariwala's passing and called on the media to respect the family's grief.
Desai has been open about her past struggles. She has previously discussed the challenges she faced after her divorce from her "Uttaran" co-star, Nandish Sandhu. She revealed that she went through a period of depression and faced judgment from society. "Honestly when I was in that process, the entire process was stressful. I couldn't deal with it. Hence, I wasn't being myself and was trying to be someone who I was not," Rashami said. She also spoke about how people often judge individuals independently rather than understanding the dynamics of a couple.
In another instance, Desai recalled being trolled for her clothing choices early in her career. She recounted how she was criticized for her outfit on the red carpet, with some calling her "aunty" or "behenji". Desai has also spoken about the fat-shaming she has experienced and emphasized the importance of empathy, as one never knows the reasons behind someone's weight.
Despite these challenges, Rashami Desai has established herself as a popular and successful actress in the Indian television industry. She began her career in regional films and gained recognition for her role as Tapasya in "Uttaran". She has also participated in various reality shows, including "Zara Nachke Dikha," "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa," "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi," and "Nach Baliye". Desai's resilience and ability to overcome personal and professional hurdles have made her an inspiration to many.
