The trailer for Anupam Kher's directorial venture, "Tanvi The Great," has been released, garnering praise and attention from audiences and Bollywood celebrities alike. The film, which has already premiered at several film festivals including Cannes and the New York Indian Film Festival, is set to arrive in Indian theaters on July 18.

The film tells the inspiring story of Tanvi Raina, a young woman with autism who dreams of joining the Indian Army to fulfill her late father's dream of saluting the Indian flag at the Siachen glacier. Despite facing societal and institutional barriers, Tanvi is determined to overcome these obstacles and serve her country. The trailer showcases Tanvi's journey as she strives to achieve her goal, highlighting her resilience, determination, and the support she receives from her family, especially her grandfather.

Anupam Kher stars as Tanvi's grandfather, Colonel Khanna, a retired colonel who initially appears dismissive but eventually becomes her pillar of support. The film also stars Shubhangi Dutt as Tanvi, along with Karan Tacker as Tanvi's father, and Pallavi Joshi as Tanvi's mother. Arvind Swamy plays a pivotal role as he trains Tanvi to become an Army officer.

"Tanvi The Great" marks Anupam Kher's return to directing after over two decades, his previous directorial venture being "Om Jai Jagadish" in 2002. Kher has shared that the film is inspired by his niece, who is on the autism spectrum. He emphasizes the film's universal theme, portraying the emotional journey of a young autistic woman striving to fulfill her father's dream. He also stated that the film is a tribute to every person who is different but no less and that it is a story of an autistic, brilliant, and fiercely determined girl who dreams of joining the Indian Army.

Several Bollywood celebrities have praised the trailer and Anupam Kher's efforts. Shah Rukh Khan shared the trailer on his Instagram Stories, writing, "To my friend @AnupamPKher who has always taken chances… whether it's acting, filmmaking or life!! The trailer of #TanviTheGreat is looking awesome. All the best on this journey!!". Anil Kapoor called the film a "powerful, heartfelt, and deeply inspiring story".

The music for "Tanvi The Great" is composed by Oscar-winning MM Keeravani. The film is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation and is being released with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani's Excel Entertainment.
