Nikita Luther Alleges 'The Traitors' Editing Was Scripted, Resulting in a Shocking and Altered Narrative

Nikita Luther, one of the winners of the reality show The Traitors India, has addressed claims about the show being scripted. Luther, a professional poker player, won the show alongside Uorfi Javed. The two were declared winners after successfully identifying and voting out the "traitors". They split a prize of ₹70.05 lakh.

The reality show, hosted by Karan Johar, involves a group of contestants who must work together to eliminate the "Traitors" from the "Innocents". The "Innocents" must figure out who the "Traitors" are and vote them out before they are "murdered" in the game.

Luther described her experience on The Traitors as intense, comparing it to "living in a pressure cooker where you can't trust anything except your own instincts". She stated that "Every look, every silence, every alliance felt like a move on a giant chessboard".

In an interview, Luther shut down rumors that The Traitors was scripted. "Everything that happened was real: the tension, the paranoia, the eliminations," she said. "That's exactly why the show worked. Nothing was scripted". Luther emphasized the genuineness of the experience, noting that the intense environment and constant mind games contributed to the show's appeal. She told IANS, "Traitors was absolutely not scripted". She further explained, "It was a very unique experience. First, it was a captive reality show. We had no phones for two weeks...everything was monitored".

Uorfi Javed, Luther's co-winner, also shared her perspective on the show. In an exclusive conversation, Javed said that winning the show was not just about being the smartest. "The Traitors is a concept where you have to use your brain at the right time," she explained. "If you use it too soon or too late, it's over". Javed admitted she "wasn't the smartest in the lot, just that I seized the opportunity at the right time".

Javed also compared The Traitors to Bigg Boss, another reality show she had previously participated in. She stated that The Traitors is "a completely different game" and requires more strategic thinking. "In The Traitors, you have to use your brain," she said. Javed described her approach to the show as "to remain calm and calculated," emphasizing that "The goal on that show is to win, not to fight".

Luther clarified her gameplay, stating, "The name of the game itself was manipulation". She added, "any manipulation that I did was done in a positive way". Luther said, "I showed everyone that I was harmless and I was not able to understand anything – so this became my survival strategy...I manipulated by maintaining an innocent image of myself".

Both Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther were part of the "Innocents" team. They were praised "for their sharp instincts, emotional resilience, and gameplay that balanced heart and mind". The show The Traitors India is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
