Faissal Khan, brother of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has recently made startling claims about his relationship with his family, particularly his brother Aamir. In a recent interview, Faissal alleged that Aamir Khan confined him to his house for over a year, forcibly medicated him, and isolated him from the outside world.
Faissal claims his family believed he suffered from schizophrenia and posed a threat to society. "They were saying I've got schizophrenia and I'm a mad person. I can harm society," Faissal stated, recalling the distressing period. He felt trapped, describing the situation as a "chakravyuh" – a metaphorical labyrinth with no escape. He felt isolated because his entire family seemed to be against him, convinced he was mentally unwell.
According to Faissal, Aamir confiscated his phone, preventing him from contacting his father, Tahir Hussain, for help. He alleged that a bodyguard was stationed outside his room, and he was given medication against his will. "Mobile le liya, main bahar nahi jaa sakta. Bodyguard mere room ke bahar. Dawaiyan de rahe hain," Faissal stated, painting a picture of constant surveillance and control. He also feared dying of an overdose because of the secret medication in food and water, which made him sleep for 20 hours.
After a year of confinement, Faissal claims he pressured Aamir to allow him to move to another house. However, he alleges that Aamir then demanded he appear in court to relinquish his signatory rights. "Aamir said, 'We want your signatory rights… tumko kal jana hai court mein aur bolna hai ki tum kuch faisla le nahi paate ho," Faissal recalled. This demand led Faissal to believe that his brother was trying to control his life completely. Instead of complying, Faissal says he feigned agreement but instead "ditched" Aamir and left his home.
Faissal's allegations have brought renewed attention to the long-standing family feud and his past struggles with mental health. In the past, Faissal underwent a mental evaluation at JJ Hospital for 20 days and was declared mentally healthy. He claimed he was given the wrong medication for a year, which he felt was unfair. He also stated that his family spread rumors about his mental illness.
Faissal has also spoken about the lack of open communication within his family. He said he never had the chance to ask them directly why they did what they did. He also acknowledged Aamir's early support in helping him find work after he initially left home. However, he believes that other family members contributed to the growing distance between him and Aamir. He alleges that some relatives didn't like their closeness and wanted them to remain separate, influencing Aamir.
During this difficult period, Faissal says he sought help from other Bollywood figures like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aditya Chopra, but his pleas were largely unanswered. He was confined to a mental health ward for 20 days, feeling unheard and desperate.
Despite the turmoil, Faissal attended the wedding and reception of Aamir's daughter, Ira Khan, which some saw as a sign of reconciliation within the family. Faissal has stated that he has forgiven Aamir and moved forward. He is currently living separately in Mumbai.
