The highly anticipated third season of HBO's "House of the Dragon" is currently filming in the United Kingdom, with a premiere slated for 2026. As the Dance of the Dragons intensifies, Season 3 is set to introduce several new characters to the already expansive world of Westeros.
Production has confirmed that seven new actors will be joining the cast. These additions will bring fresh faces to the forefront as the battle between the Blacks and the Greens reaches a boiling point.
Here's a breakdown of the new cast members and their roles:
These new additions join a returning cast of 22 actors, including Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, and Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen.
However, with the arrival of new faces, some familiar ones will be absent. Eve Best, who played Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, will not be returning, along with Simon Russell Beale (Ser Simon Strong), Ella Torchia (Kat), and Tom Taylor (Lord Cregan Stark).
"House of the Dragon" Season 3 will consist of eight episodes and is expected to premiere in 2026. Filming is currently underway in the UK and is expected to continue into the fall of 2025.
