Malaika Arora has recently hinted at the possibility of a second marriage following her divorce from Arbaaz Khan in 2017. This comes after Arbaaz Khan's recent marriage to makeup artist Sshura Khan.
During an appearance on "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11," Farah Khan playfully inquired about Malaika's plans for 2024, asking if she would transition "from single parent-cum-actress to double parent-cum-actress". Initially puzzled, Malaika responded humorously, seeking clarification. After understanding the question, which alluded to the possibility of her finding a partner, Malaika acknowledged the possibility of remarriage, stating, "Agar koi hai toh mai hundred percent shaadi karungi" (if I find someone, I will get married). However, she cautiously added, "Once bitten, twice very shy," suggesting a more careful approach to marriage.
Malaika has been in a relationship with actor Arjun Kapoor for several years. When asked if she was ready for marriage again, she responded, "Haan" (Yes). She affirmed her romantic nature, saying "never say never".
Prior to this exchange, Malaika shared a cryptic post on Instagram about love, which many interpreted as a reaction to Arbaaz's second marriage. The post read, "Fall in love with someone who is both your safe place and your biggest adventure".
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Malaika spoke about her past marriage and her decision to divorce. She stated that she would always cherish her marriage, but she doesn't regret her choice to end it. She also addressed criticisms she faced for prioritizing herself, explaining that society often expects women to prioritize their children and husbands before themselves. Malaika asserted that she is happier now that she has put herself first.
When asked what advice she would give to young girls today, Malaika cautioned against rushing into marriage. She emphasized the importance of self-understanding and personal achievement before settling down. She advised them to enjoy life and marry only when they feel ready.
Malaika and Arbaaz were married in 1998 and divorced in 2017. They have a son together, Arhaan Khan, whom they co-parent. Despite their divorce, Malaika maintains a mature and respectful relationship with Arbaaz.
