Faissal Khan, brother of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, has officially cut ties with his family, claiming he was subjected to forced medication and confinement. This follows a series of public accusations and counter-statements between Faissal and the rest of the Khan family.

Faissal Khan has stated that he will no longer reside in Aamir Khan's house or accept any financial allowance from him. He has accused his family of subjecting him to unwanted medication, house arrest, and forcing him to give up his signatory rights. Faissal alleges that his family conspired against him and defamed him in their recent statements.

In a recent press conference, Faissal claimed that his family used to drug him through his water and food, administering a drug called "Serenace". He stated that bodyguards would inject the drug into his water bottles, and he only agreed to take the medication out of fear of a fatal overdose. He also revealed that he was confined to a room for a year, during which time his weight increased significantly.

Faissal had previously alleged that Aamir Khan kept him confined in his Mumbai home for over a year, after which the family released a statement expressing distress over Faissal's "hurtful" comments. The family stated that all decisions regarding Faissal were taken collectively, in consultation with medical professionals, and were based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological well-being. They refuted Faissal's claims as "misleading".

In response, Faissal issued a public notice severing all familial and estate ties with his family members. In an Instagram post, he described this move as the beginning of a "new chapter of freedom," emphasizing healing, dignity, and self-discovery. He stated that this step, though difficult, is essential for his healing and growth and that he embraces this new chapter with positivity, truth, and strength.

Faissal's public notice clarified that he would no longer be known as part of the family of his late father, Tahir Hussain, or his mother, Zeenat Tahir Hussain, and would not be entitled to any rights arising out of their estate, nor liable for any liabilities arising out of their estate.

Faissal had previously taken his family to court after being asked to surrender his signatory rights. He also underwent a 20-day mental health assessment at JJ Hospital, where doctors declared him fit. He claims that his mother and sister made false allegations that he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and was a danger to society. He stated that these accusations were challenged in court, and in February 2008, the court ruled in his favor and rejected the allegations made by his family.

Aamir Khan's family issued a statement asserting that every choice regarding Faissal had been taken collectively, with medical advice, love and compassion. They requested the media to refrain from turning a private matter into gossip.

Faissal Khan made his Bollywood debut in a supporting role in the 1988 film "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak". He later starred alongside Aamir Khan and Twinkle Khanna in "Mela" (2000), which did not perform well at the box office. After that, Faissal joined Aamir Khan Productions as a script doctor.
