Gujarat ATS Busts Terror Module

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended four individuals with links to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), a banned terrorist organization. The arrests were carried out in a coordinated operation spanning multiple cities, including two in Gujarat (Ahmedabad and Modasa), one in Delhi, and one in Noida. The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Faiq, Mohammed Fardeen, Sefullah Kureshi, and Zeeshan Ali, all aged between 20 and 25.

According to initial reports, the apprehended individuals were actively involved in recruiting for AQIS and using social media platforms to disseminate extremist ideologies. Authorities also recovered arms and ammunition from the suspects, underscoring the seriousness of the threat. The Gujarat Police stated that the four were connected via social media and were planning a significant terrorist attack in the country. Further investigations are currently underway. In 2023, four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from different parts of the city for having links with the same terror outfit.

Tejashwi Hints At Poll Boycott

Amidst rising concerns over alleged manipulation of voter lists, Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has hinted at a potential boycott of the upcoming Bihar polls by the Mahagathbandhan. Yadav's statement comes in response to what he describes as a "dishonest process" in the preparation of voter lists, specifically pointing to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He has raised questions about the deletion of names from voter lists and has warned of potential electoral manipulation.

Yadav has also supported Rahul Gandhi's allegations of electoral manipulation in other states, citing instances where numerous voters were registered at a single BJP worker's address. He has indicated that this issue will be discussed with allied parties to decide on a course of action.
