A passenger on an IndiGo flight 6E138 from Mumbai to Kolkata was handed over to security after he slapped another passenger. The incident occurred on Friday, August 1, 2025. Following the event, the airline declared the passenger who slapped the other as unruly.

A video circulating on social media captured the incident, showing a seated passenger unexpectedly slapping another passenger who was standing in the aisle. The person who was slapped started crying and was moved from the spot. In the video, a cabin crew member can be heard telling the passenger who did the slapping, "don't do," while another passenger questioned his actions, stating that he did not have the right to hit anyone. One of the passengers is heard saying that the person who was hit was having a panic attack.

The reason for the altercation is currently unknown. It remains unclear whether the incident took place before takeoff or mid-air.

There has been no official statement from IndiGo regarding the incident. The number of passengers on board the Airbus A321 aircraft during the flight has not been disclosed.
