The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party convened a significant meeting in Parliament today, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated for the success of Operation Sindoor. The air was filled with chants of "Har Har Mahadev" and "Jai Shri Ram" as NDA MPs lauded the Prime Minister for his government's strong response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in response to the terror attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. The Indian armed forces conducted precision missile strikes on nine terrorist targets across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes targeted key terrorist installations, including Jaish-e-Mohammad's stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base in Muridke.

During the NDA meeting, a resolution was passed praising Modi's leadership and the armed forces' "unmatched courage and unwavering commitment" during Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju read out the resolution. Operation Mahadev refers to an encounter on July 28 on the outskirts of Srinagar, where three senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commanders were killed.

PM Modi addressed the gathering on current issues, including the opposition's concerns about the poll body's conduct and the Pahalgam terror attack. He noted that August 5 was a historic day, as Article 370, which gave special rights to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, was abrogated on this day. Modi added that the NDA government has followed the Constitution in its true spirit. He also praised Home Minister Amit Shah, noting that he has become the longest-serving incumbent in the ministry.

The NDA has asserted that the military action in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack brought the neighboring country to its knees. The government believes that Operation Sindoor has sent a strong message to Pakistan.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi lauded Operation Sindoor as a pivotal, intelligence-driven mission that redefined India's counter-terrorism approach. Speaking at an event in IIT Madras, he described the operation as a landmark response that showcased the Armed Forces' capability to address evolving warfare challenges and readiness for fifth-generation conflicts. He noted that the 88-hour operation was unprecedented in scale, range, depth, and strategic impact, and was executed across the DIME (Diplomacy, Information, Military, and Economic) spectrum.

Operation Sindoor also highlighted the Indian Army's growing reliance on indigenous drone technology developed under the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. These cutting-edge systems are redefining battlefield intelligence, target acquisition, and artillery coordination.

The Delhi Assembly also hailed Operation Sindoor. Concluding a discussion on a motion of thanks, a member of the Assembly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the operation in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Another member accused the opposition parties of sympathizing with anti-national forces. A different member suggested that Operation Sindoor be included in the Delhi government school curriculum.

In the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, political stalemate has hindered the passage of bills. The opposition has been demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar's electoral roll. Despite the protests, the government aims to pass five listed Bills.
