Gaurav Khanna, currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 19, has recently opened up about his desire to have children and his wife Akanksha Chamola's reluctance. The popular television actor, known for his roles in CID and Anupamaa, made the heartfelt confession during a conversation with fellow contestant Mridul Tiwari on the reality show.
Khanna, who has been married to actress Akanksha Chamola since 2016, revealed that the topic of parenthood has been a point of discussion between them. While he expressed his wish to embrace parenthood, he also conveyed that his wife is not yet ready for children.
"She doesn't want to. I want to, but it's a love marriage, so I have to do what she says," Khanna confessed on Bigg Boss 19. He further explained that he respects her perspective and understands the significant responsibility that comes with raising a child.
Khanna elaborated on his reasoning, stating, "I work all the time, and if she also gets work, it wouldn't be right to leave the kids alone". He acknowledged the importance of having dedicated parental care and expressed his concern about leaving a child in someone else's care if both he and his wife were working full-time.
Despite his longing for children, Khanna emphasized his commitment to honoring his wife's wishes. "When you love someone, you have to respect their wishes. Her thinking is also correct. It is a big responsibility. And it’s just the two of us," he stated. He highlighted the importance of mutual understanding and support in their relationship, emphasizing that love requires compromise and consideration for each other's perspectives.
Mridul Tiwari responded to Khanna's sentiments with an optimistic outlook, suggesting, "Let's see, maybe after 2-3 years". Khanna agreed, leaving room for future possibilities and reaffirming his open-mindedness on the matter. He also added "never say never".
Khanna's revelation comes amidst his participation in Bigg Boss 19, where he has also been involved in other discussions and disagreements. In a recent episode, he was seen in a heated argument with fellow contestant Zeishan Quadri regarding household duties. Quadri confronted Khanna about his dishwashing responsibilities, leading to a tense exchange between the two. Khanna has also faced criticism from other housemates, including Amaal Mallik, who jokingly called him his "mother" for reminding him about writing.
