Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) in Delhi has been placed under a security sweep after authorities received a bomb threat on the morning of September 9, 2025.

The Delhi Police were immediately notified and have responded promptly to the situation. Law enforcement, along with bomb disposal squads, are currently conducting a thorough search of the college premises to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.

The nature of the bomb threat, specifically whether it was received via email or another method, is not yet clear. Details regarding the specific areas being searched within the college are also still emerging.

This incident follows a series of similar bomb threats targeting educational institutions in Delhi. Just last week, over 100 schools across Delhi received bomb threats over five days, all of which turned out to be false alarms. On August 28, 2025, around 20 colleges in Delhi, including prominent institutions such as St. Stephen's College, Jesus and Mary College, and Jamia Millia Islamia, received bomb threats via email. Authorities determined those threats to be hoaxes. Preliminary investigations suggested that the senders of those emails may have used Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to mask their identities.

These repeated incidents have caused disruption to academic activities and raised concerns among students, parents, and educators. Police are actively investigating the origins of the threats and are taking the matter seriously.

The investigation into the MAMC bomb threat is ongoing, and further updates are expected as authorities continue their search and inquiry.
