BTS's Jimin has achieved a remarkable feat on Spotify, with his solo track "Who" surpassing 2 billion streams. Released on July 19, 2024, as the lead single from his second solo album, "MUSE," "Who" has become the fastest song by a Korean solo artist to reach this milestone, achieving it in just over a year.
"Who" is a hip-hop and R&B track characterized by a powerful bounce and guitar riffs. The lyrics express a longing for someone never met and the confusion of emotions, creating a contrast between the song's sensual and bold image and its pure love lyrics expressing a desire to "find true love". Jon Bellion, Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Pdogg, and GHSTLOOP co-wrote and co-produced the song.
Upon release, "Who" debuted at number 14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and remained on the chart for a total of 33 weeks. It has also maintained its position on Billboard's 'Global 200' and 'Global (Excluding the U.S.)' charts for 60 weeks and stayed on the UK's 'Official Singles Top 100' for 28 weeks. The song's success extends beyond streaming numbers, as it was also recorded as the most-streamed K-pop track worldwide last year and the most listened to song by Korean users in Spotify's '2024 Wrapped Year-End Recap' campaign. In March 2025, "Who" won the "K-POP SONG OF THE YEAR" award at the '2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards'.
Jimin's "MUSE" album, released in July 2024, reflects his journey of finding inspiration from his surroundings. The album explores the theme of love across its seven tracks. Prior to "MUSE," Jimin released his debut solo album, "FACE," in March 2023.
Jimin has achieved a number of other milestones on Spotify. He is the first K-pop soloist to have two albums surpass 2.6 billion streams each: "MUSE" with 3.3 billion streams and "FACE" with over 2.6 billion streams. He is also the first and only K-pop soloist to surpass 6 billion streams with his solo songs alone, excluding collaborations.
Jimin's solo success is a testament to his artistry and his ability to connect with listeners around the world. His unique vocal color and emotionally honest music have resonated with fans, making him a global icon.
