Akshay Kumar is not taking over from Kapil Sharma as the host of "The Great Indian Kapil Show." Instead, the Bollywood star is appearing as a guest on the season finale of the Netflix show.
The final episode of "The Great Indian Kapil Show" Season 3 will feature Akshay Kumar engaging in light-hearted banter with Kapil Sharma. A promo video shows the two joking about romance and Akshay's upcoming projects. Akshay even playfully teases Kapil about being late to the show, quipping, "Arre, mujhe pehle paise nahi mile!" He also humorously questions Kapil about his long-running show.
The episode will include a tribute to stuntmen, with directors Mahesh Bhatt and Abbas-Mustan sharing anecdotes about Akshay's daredevil stunts. Akshay himself states that he considers himself a stuntman first and an actor second. Several stuntmen who have worked with Akshay will also appear on stage.
Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda will reprise their roles as Babupao and Sunil Shetty, respectively, and join Akshay on stage. Akshay will also participate in a Holi-style water balloon fight with his co-stars.
