Salman Khan, currently filming "Battle of Galwan," has taken a short break from the shoot due to health concerns arising from the demanding Ladakh schedule. The actor recently wrapped up a rigorous 15-day schedule in Ladakh, shooting at real locations in sub-10 degree temperatures.
Sources indicate that the extreme conditions in Ladakh, including low oxygen levels, physical injuries, and harsh weather, took a toll on Khan's health. Consequently, he will be taking a week off to rest and recover before commencing the next phase of filming in Mumbai.
"Battle of Galwan" is a biopic directed by Apoorva Lakhia, with Khan portraying the role of Colonel Santosh Babu, a real-life hero. The film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between India and China. The Ladakh schedule involved filming crucial action sequences and dramatic moments, with the actor committed to portraying his character authentically.
Khan has been open about his existing health issues. He revealed he is managing trigeminal neuralgia, a brain aneurysm, and an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Trigeminal neuralgia causes intense facial pain. An aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel that can rupture and cause severe headaches, blurred vision, and potential loss of consciousness. An AVM is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels that can disrupt blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain, potentially leading to headaches, seizures, and neurological deficits.
Despite these challenges, Khan remains dedicated to his role. The film's director, Apoorva Lakhia, shared glimpses of the Ladakh shoot, highlighting the challenging conditions faced by the cast and crew.
Following the Ladakh schedule, the "Battle of Galwan" team will move to Mumbai to film key emotional moments and larger action sequences on a massive set. The film aims to combine real locations with controlled sets to create a powerful cinematic experience. "Battle of Galwan" is expected to be completed by the end of 2025 and released in 2026. Unlike his usual Eid releases, this film is slated for a January 2026 release.
