After 20 years, the iconic duo of Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs are making a stylish return in "The Devil Wears Prada 2." A teaser trailer was released on Wednesday, sending fans into a frenzy. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reprise their roles as the formidable Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, and her former assistant, Andy Sachs. The teaser opens with a mystery woman in red heels striding through the Runway offices to the tune of Madonna's "Vogue". The woman is revealed to be Miranda Priestly, who enters an elevator and is joined by Andy Sachs. Priestly greets Sachs with, "Took you long enough," as Sachs smirks behind black sunglasses, mirroring Priestly's signature look.

The sequel, directed by David Frankel, explores Miranda's navigation of her career amidst the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She faces a new challenge in Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), now a high-powered executive at a luxury group with significant advertising leverage over Runway. The film delves into themes of workplace rivalry and personal ambition within the rapidly evolving media landscape.

Returning cast members include Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. New additions to the cast include Kenneth Branagh as Priestly's husband, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Rachel Bloom, Sydney Sweeney, Lady Gaga, and Donatella Versace. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman will also reprise their roles as "Lily" and "Irv".

The original 2006 film, based on Lauren Weisberger's novel, was a critical and commercial success, earning $326 million worldwide. The film follows Andy, an aspiring journalist, as she navigates the demanding world of fashion publishing under Miranda Priestly's direction. The character of Miranda Priestly is believed to be inspired by Anna Wintour, former editor-in-chief of Vogue.

The sequel is based on Weisberger's 2013 novel, "Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns". The novel revisits Andy ten years after the first book, as she works as editor of a bridal magazine and finds herself once again entangled with Miranda.

Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were spotted in character at a Dolce & Gabbana runway show in Milan in September, fueling anticipation for the sequel.

"The Devil Wears Prada 2" is set to be released in a summer filled with sequels, including "Scary Movie 6," "Toy Story 5," "Minions 3," and "Spider-Man: Brand New Day".
