Veteran actor Rajasekhar has secured the Telugu remake rights to the critically acclaimed 2024 Tamil film, Lubber Pandhu, a heart-warming cricket-based sports drama directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu. This acquisition marks a significant step in Rajasekhar's career, as he is set to star in the lead role and will be reuniting with actress Ramya Krishnan on screen after 27 years.
The Telugu remake is already generating considerable buzz, with shooting having commenced in Hyderabad a few days ago. Ani IV Sasi, son of the late renowned director IV Sasi, is helming the project. Rajasekhar will be reprising the role of VR Dinesh from the original film, while Ramya Krishnan will be stepping into the shoes of Swasika. The film will see Rajasekhar paired opposite Ramya Krishnan. Rajasekhar's daughter will also be playing a role in the film, essaying the role of his on-screen daughter. Viswadev Rachakonda, known for 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu, is also featured in a significant role.
Rajasekhar and Ramya Krishnan, who were a popular on-screen pair in the 1990s, have starred together in several hit films, including Allari Priyudu and Balarama Krishnulu. Their reunion after nearly three decades is one of the most anticipated aspects of this remake.
