The makers of the highly anticipated film "Peddi," starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, are reportedly preparing to release a special behind-the-scenes (BTS) video of the hit song "Chikiri Chikiri". The song has already taken the internet by storm, crossing 100 million views across various platforms.

"Chikiri Chikiri," composed by A.R. Rahman and sung by Mohit Chauhan, has become a viral sensation since its release a few weeks ago. The song’s popularity has brought considerable buzz to the film. The track is from the upcoming sports drama "Peddi," directed by Buchi Babu Sana, known for his debut film "Uppena". "Peddi" is slated to release on March 27, 2026.

The makers of "Peddi" have already revealed the meaning behind the song "Chikiri Chikiri". In a promotional video, director Buchi Babu Sana explained that "Chikiri" is a term of endearment used in his village to describe beautiful women. He also shared that the song captures the moment Ram Charan's character, Peddi, is mesmerized by Janhvi Kapoor's character. The video features Ram Charan in a white shirt and grey trousers, sporting long hair and a rugged beard, dancing on a green hillside.

The film "Peddi" features Ram Charan as the title character, alongside Janhvi Kapoor as Achiyyamma, Peddi's love interest. The cast also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu.

The film is set in a village in the 1980s. Filming commenced in Mysuru in November 2024 and continued in Hyderabad, Sri Lanka and Pune. A village set resembling Vizianagaram was created on the outskirts of Hyderabad for filming stunt and dramatic sequences.

The hook step from the "Chikiri Chikiri" promo, choreographed by Jani Master, has also garnered attention, with fans comparing it to Chiranjeevi's iconic step from "Muta Mestri".

The lyrical video of "Chikiri Chikiri" is already out. The Malayalam version of the song was sung by Benny Dayal, with lyrics by Sijumon Thuravoor. The music rights for "Peddi" were acquired by T-Series for a substantial amount.

Given the immense popularity of "Chikiri Chikiri," fans are eagerly waiting for the BTS video to get a glimpse of the hard work and fun that went into creating the song. With the film's release date approaching, the makers are strategically using the song's success to build further anticipation for "Peddi".
