In a message directed at Generation Z, Lokesh advised students to "not do anything that you cannot tell your mother about," during the 'Hello Lokesh' programme in Rajahmundry.

Lokesh's educational background includes an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Management Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University. Before assuming his current ministerial responsibilities, he served as the Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, and Information Technology, Electronics and Communications from 2017 to 2019. During that period, he introduced transformative initiatives such as Jalavani, a real-time water grievance system that saved the state significant amounts annually through digital monitoring.
