Chitrangada Singh Hails Salman Khan's Authenticity Amidst Galwan Discussion: A Candid Reflection.

Chitrangada Singh is showering praise on her "Battle of Galwan" co-star, Salman Khan, highlighting his authenticity and dedication to the film. The highly anticipated war drama, directed by Apoorva Lakhia of "Shootout at Lokhandwala" fame, is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between India and China.

Singh describes Khan as "unapologetically himself," a quality she finds rare in an industry where many "wear masks". In an interview with PTI, Singh stated, "The most amazing thing about him is that there is zero pretension... I've not come across anyone in the industry who has zero pretension; it's this man. He is exactly who he is". She admires Khan for being "who he is and not wanting to be anything else". She believes that his genuine nature is what his fans love most about him.

Singh also lauded Khan's spontaneous approach to acting. "He's so secure, you could say anything, and he loves to improvise," she shared. "It's like an ever-evolving scene till it's finally okay. Till then, it just keeps evolving, I love that. It's just so much fun because everyone's having fun". She also noted how Khan's years of experience allow him to improvise effortlessly, bringing a refreshing spontaneity to the scenes.

Dispelling rumors of Khan's alleged unprofessionalism, Singh vouched for his punctuality and commitment to the project. Speaking to Zoom, she clarified, "I had also heard of this, and I can vouch for it that not one day has he been late". She further added that Khan was present on set even when he wasn't in the shot, demonstrating his investment in the film. Singh also noted that Khan actively monitors performances and provides support to the cast, further emphasizing his dedication.

Singh also revealed that she was earlier set to team up with Khan on a movie, which the superstar was going to produce but the film never saw the light of the day.

"Battle of Galwan" holds a personal significance for Singh, who comes from an army background. Her father is a retired army colonel, and she grew up surrounded by stories of bravery and patriotism. While she remained tight-lipped about her specific role in the film, Singh mentioned that she would be the emotional support for Khan’s character in the film.

"Battle of Galwan," directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is slated for release on April 17, 2026.
