In a display of fervent fandom, actor Harshvardhan Rane found himself caught in a mob of admirers while promoting the OTT release of his film, "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat". The incident occurred in the Bandstand area of Bandra, Mumbai, as the actor emerged to greet fans on December 27, 2025.
Rane's "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat," co-starring Sonam Bajwa, has begun streaming on ZEE5. The film's digital premiere follows its successful theatrical run, which started on October 21, 2025, during the Diwali period. The movie, directed by Milap Zaveri, explores themes of obsession and the darker aspects of love.
Videos circulating online show the actor being swarmed by enthusiastic fans. Some fans were seen pulling at Rane's t-shirt as he made his way through the crowd. Despite the chaos, Rane appeared to maintain his composure, smiling and waving to the gathered crowd.
"Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat" became a surprise hit, earning over ₹100 crore worldwide. According to Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹110.28 crore globally, with ₹78.99 crore net in India.
Rane described his character in the film, Vikramaditya, as someone "driven entirely by passion," adding that the character "loves with all his heart and fights with everything he has". He expressed excitement about the film reaching a wider audience through its digital premiere.
Sonam Bajwa shared her perspective on her character, Adaa, stating that she is "strong, fearless and fiercely protective of her heart". She added that portraying Adaa was an emotional journey, and she was thrilled by the overwhelming response to the film in theaters.
Director Milap Zaveri said that "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat" was conceived from the notion that "love, when taken to its extremes, can be both intoxicating and destructive". He hopes that the film's digital premiere on ZEE5 will allow viewers to experience its "passion, intensity, and emotional chaos in a more intimate, personal space".
Prior to the OTT release, Rane had actively promoted the film across various cities. In Ahmedabad, he was also mobbed by fans during a promotional visit. He engaged with fans from a bus decorated with film posters and made a surprise visit to a cinema in Vapi, Gujarat.
The film's success has been attributed to Rane's grassroots promotion efforts, where he personally connected with audiences. These promotional activities, including road trips and mall tours, aimed to increase the film's reach and create buzz in smaller towns.
