Malti Chahar, known for her appearance on Bigg Boss 19, recently shared unsettling details about her childhood and family life, revealing a period marked by domestic conflicts and a lack of personal freedom. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Chahar opened up about the tensions between her parents and the impact it had on her formative years.

Chahar recounted growing up in a small, one-bedroom apartment where escaping the constant arguments between her parents was impossible. "We lived in a 1BHK house, where do you go when your parents are fighting?" she stated, highlighting the confined environment that amplified the stress of the situation. She further revealed that the arguments sometimes led to physical altercations, with both her mother and father hitting her. "Many times, my mother would hit me after arguing with my father, and at times, my father did the same," Chahar shared, emphasizing that her parents "never realised the impact it had on me". She also mentioned that her parents have been living separately for the past 13 years, indicating long-standing compatibility issues.

Adding to her struggles, Chahar described a restrictive upbringing, particularly concerning her ambitions and personal choices. "I was given no freedom," she explained, recalling that her father boycotted her until she completed the 12th grade because he wanted her to focus on becoming an IPS officer. He believed that keeping her away from her own ambitions would make her focus on her studies. She was also forced to keep her hair short until the 11th grade, which affected her deeply.

Chahar also spoke about the challenges she faced due to a rare medical condition called adenomyosis, which causes extreme menstrual pain. She revealed that she used to be hospitalized almost every month because of it and still lives with constant pain. According to Chahar, there is no permanent cure, and while hormonal medication is an option, it comes with side effects that she prefers to avoid. She expressed feeling misunderstood and unsupported even during her time in the Bigg Boss house concerning her pain.

In addition to family issues and health struggles, Chahar recalled facing eve-teasing during her childhood in Suratgarh, a small town where her father was posted. She said she couldn't complain to her parents because she feared they would impose even more restrictions on her. Reflecting on her experiences, Chahar stated, "All of this makes me feel that I didn't have a good life after seventh grade".
