Rukmini Vasanth on Yash's 'Toxic': A Dark Fairytale and Its Uniqueness Compared to Other Stories.

Rukmini Vasanth, the rising star known for her captivating performances in Madharaasi and Kantara: Chapter 1, has offered insights into her upcoming project, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, starring alongside Yash. Vasanth describes the film as a unique and challenging experience, setting it apart from anything she has done before.

In a recent interview, Vasanth expressed her excitement and anticipation for the film, acknowledging the buzz it has generated within the industry. "It's unlike anything I've taken on before,” she stated, highlighting the distinctiveness of the project. She also noted the fascinating and incomparable working style employed by Yash and director Geetu Mohandas, emphasizing their approach to the script, preparation, and shooting.

Vasanth has also spoken about the film's scale, ambition, and creative vision. At an India Today event, she shared her experience of working with Yash, describing him as a passionate artist and creative individual. "Working with him at the early stages of my career feels like a privilege," she said, adding that she feels like a sponge, absorbing as much as possible from his perspective. She lauded Yash's passion and commitment to his work as truly awe-inspiring.

Regarding Toxic, Vasanth remarked on its universal perspective, suggesting it transcends the typical cinematic experience. "Sometimes, it feels like more than just a film – it feels like a movement, capturing what the cultural zeitgeist might be," she explained. She believes having such a universal approach is truly special. She further added that Toxic is unlike anything seen thus far in Kannada or Indian cinema, calling it raw and layered. She also lauded director Geetu's vision as bold and very human.

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker recognized for her storytelling. Mohandas is a recipient of a National Award and the Global Filmmaking Award at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.

Yash, known for redefining pan-Indian stardom with the KGF franchise, is currently immersed in the final leg of filming in Bangalore. Large-scale promotional campaigns are expected to commence in January 2026, building anticipation for the film's release. Toxic is being shot in Kannada and English and will be dubbed in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam to reach a pan-Indian audience. The high-octane action drama is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

For Rukmini Vasanth, Toxic marks another significant milestone in her rapidly growing career. In addition to Toxic, Vasanth is also set to appear in NTR–Neel, another ambitious pan-India project.
