Sai Pallavi Enters Bollywood Alongside Junaid Khan in 'Ek Din'; Film Set for May 1st Release

Sai Pallavi is set to make her Hindi film debut alongside Junaid Khan in the upcoming romantic drama, Ek Din. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is directed by Sunil Pandey and is scheduled to release in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Ek Din is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day, directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun. The Hindi adaptation is written by Sneha Desai and Spandan Mishra, who have tailored the original story for Indian audiences. Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan reunite as producers for this project after 18 years. Aparna Purohit also serves as a producer.

The film's narrative revolves around Rohan, played by Junaid Khan, who is secretly in love with his colleague Nisha, portrayed by Sai Pallavi. The story takes a turn when they embark on a company trip to Japan, where Rohan wishes to spend just one day with Nisha, and his wish comes true. The film explores the life-changing experiences that arise from two strangers meeting and spending a day together.

Filming took place in Sapporo, Japan, utilizing the snowy landscapes, and continued in Mumbai's Film City. The movie was announced in July 2025 and the Japan schedule wrapped up in March 2024.

The makers of Ek Din have also announced that the film's teaser will be released on January 16, 2026.

This film marks a significant step in Sai Pallavi's career, officially introducing her to Hindi cinema after her established career in South Indian films. Junaid Khan, who was last seen in Loveyapa, steps into the romantic genre with Ek Din.

Ek Din was initially slated for release on November 7, 2025, and later December 12, 2025, but was postponed. The film's music is composed by Ram Sampath, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
