Rani Mukerji recently shared insights into her relationship with her husband, Aditya Chopra, revealing a softer side to the সাধারণত reclusive filmmaker. In a recent interview, while promoting her upcoming film Mardaani 3, Mukerji described Chopra as a "romantic person" but also explained why grand, surprise gestures are not his forte.
Mukerji has always been private about her personal life, but she occasionally offers glimpses into her bond with Chopra. When asked about her love story by Kapil Sharma on The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4, Mukerji playfully dodged the question, stating that those details were "not meant for TV".
However, she has previously shared some of the qualities that drew her to Chopra. Mukerji, who comes from a "humble and simple background," has said she was drawn to Chopra's simplicity and the way he respected his parents. She emphasized that Chopra doesn't carry "any baggage of being Yash Chopra's son" and that his grounded nature was a key factor in her falling for him. She noted that if he had any ego or arrogance, she wouldn't have been interested.
In another interview, Mukerji opened up about what sustains her marriage. She highlighted Chopra's qualities as a "gracious human being, a good person, and a great leader for his team". She values his fairness, not in terms of skin color, but in terms of morals and judgment. Mukerji believes that while initial attraction may fade, respect is essential for a lasting relationship.
Regarding their time together, Mukerji mentioned that one of their favorite activities is watching movies. While they can't attend public screenings in India, they enjoy going to the movies together when they are abroad.
Mukerji also shared her belief that "you need to shock your partner every day" to keep the relationship exciting. She playfully added that she presents a "new me" to Chopra daily, bringing comedy, drama, violence, and of course, romance into their lives. She also appreciates that they are both happy at home and don't force each other to go out. Mukerji stated that it would be difficult if her husband wanted to party all the time, as she prefers staying in.
Rani Mukerji marked 30 years in Bollywood on January 12th, 2026 and is preparing for the release of Mardaani 3 on January 30th.
