The relationship between Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal has hit a turbulent patch, with Muchhal deleting all photos of Mandhana from his Instagram account amidst allegations of infidelity. The couple, who were scheduled to marry on November 23, 2025, had their wedding plans initially postponed due to health concerns in both families, before officially calling it off in December 2025.
The recent turn of events was triggered by claims from Vidnyan Mane, a Marathi actor and producer who identifies himself as a childhood friend of Mandhana. Mane has accused Muchhal of cheating on Mandhana and of financial fraud amounting to Rs 40 lakh related to an unreleased film project. He alleged that Muchhal was caught "red-handed with another woman in bed" during the wedding festivities in November 2025 and was even confronted by Mandhana's cricketer friends.
Muchhal has vehemently denied these allegations, calling them "entirely baseless and factually incorrect". He stated that the accusations were made with malicious intent to tarnish his reputation and announced that he has filed a defamation case of ₹10 crore against Mane. According to Muchhal, his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is pursuing all legal avenues to address the situation.
Adding to the controversy, Mane has also filed a formal complaint with the police in Sangli, Maharashtra, alleging that Muchhal defrauded him of Rs 40 lakh. Mane claims he invested in Muchhal's film project, 'Nazaria,' based on the promise of substantial returns, but the project never materialized. He alleges that Muchhal offered him a role in the film and assured him a profit of Rs 12 lakh on a Rs 25 lakh investment after the film's release on OTT platforms. Mane claims he paid a total of Rs 40 lakh to Muchhal by March 2025. However, no FIR has been registered in the matter so far.
The removal of all photos featuring Mandhana from Muchhal's Instagram account has further fueled speculation about the state of their relationship. The deleted posts included birthday tributes, festive greetings, and snapshots from various occasions, many of which celebrated their five years together. It has also been noted that the two are no longer following each other on the platform.
Neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal have released an official statement regarding their current relationship status. Following the cancellation of their wedding, Mandhana stated that she needed to "clarify that the wedding is called off". Muchhal added, "I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship".
