In a recent discussion about beauty standards in Bollywood, choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan singled out Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the only actress she considers "naturally beautiful". Khan, known for her candid remarks, made the statement while discussing the influence of beauty and looks on stardom in the Indian film industry.
Khan's comment, implying that other major actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif do not fit her definition of natural beauty, has stirred conversation on social media. These actresses are celebrated for their unique styles, charisma, and on-screen presence. Khan's statement highlights a distinction between what she views as an effortless aesthetic and the crafted looks often achieved through makeup, styling, and other enhancements.
The director, known for launching Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om 16 years ago, has never been part of supporting nepotism.
It's worth noting that "natural beauty" can be subjective and encompass inner qualities like kindness, humility, and resilience, as Khan expressed in an earlier interview. In that context, she stated that the most beautiful person carries themselves with grace, shows compassion, and remains true to themself despite challenges. She emphasized that qualities like empathy, intelligence, and a positive outlook contribute to true beauty, which goes beyond physical appearance.
Khan also jokingly revealed that a skincare product was behind her radiant skin, after her cook complimented her glow. She quipped that Aishwarya Rai is perhaps the only naturally beautiful woman. Aishwarya Rai won the Miss World pageant in 1994 and has starred in blockbuster movies such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Mohabbatein, Jodhaa Akbar, Dhoom 2 and Ponniyin Selvan.
While promoting a skincare and beauty brand, Renee, Khan playfully said that the product was the secret behind her radiant skin, adding, "Let Dilip think that I am naturally beautiful".
