Following the release of "Border 2" on January 23, 2026, Hrithik Roshan has shared his review of the film, praising it as "all heart". The movie, a sequel to the 1997 hit "Border," stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
Roshan took to his Instagram handle on Tuesday evening to express his appreciation for the war drama and congratulate the entire team. "Loved Border 2, All heart. Congrats to the entire team," Roshan wrote.
"Border 2," directed by Anurag Singh, is considered a spiritual sequel to J.P. Dutta's "Border". The film sees Sunny Deol reprising his role from the original, alongside a fresh cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
The film has received mixed reviews from critics but has performed strongly at the box office. According to Koimoi, "Border 2" has already recouped 70% of its ₹275 crore budget in India within four days of its release, earning a massive ₹193.4 crore.
Several other celebrities have also lauded the film, Alia Bhatt wrote on her Instagram stories, “Such a beautiful film.. what fabulous performances by the entire cast!!!!!." Esha Deol also shared a "Border 2" review, with a shout-out for her brother Sunny Deol: 'You are the best'.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted the film's strong performance, stating, "‘BORDER 2’ SHAKES THE BOXOFFICE – RECORDS DHAMAKEDAAR EXTENDED WEEKEND…Big [Friday] Bigger [Saturday] Biggest [Sunday and Monday]. There’s absolutely no stopping Border 2… The film has smashed ALL pre-release expectations by a wide, really wide margin… As for the social media trolls, the film’s thunderous boxoffice performance has silenced them completely."
"Border 2" has outperformed several big Bollywood releases of 2025 in terms of morning occupancy, including "Dhurandhar," "Sikandar," "Housefull 5," "Sitaare Zameen Par," and "War 2".
The film's success has also sparked comparisons with previous Republic Day releases. While it hasn't surpassed the record set by "Pathaan," "Border 2" has demonstrated the potential of the Republic Day weekend for patriotic films.
On its fifth day, "Border 2" experienced a drop in numbers, earning ₹19.5 crore. However, its gross total has reached ₹235.7 crore, with an additional ₹35 crore from international markets, bringing the worldwide total to ₹270.7 crore.
