Shah Rukh Khan narrates 'The Lion King' show, building anticipation for his movie comeback with 'KING'.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to enthrall audiences with his voice once again, this time as the narrator of "The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky," a new fireworks spectacular debuting on the Disney Adventure cruise ship. This exciting announcement comes ahead of the ship's inaugural sailing from Singapore on March 10, 2026.

Khan, who famously voiced Mufasa in the Hindi versions of "The Lion King" (2019) and "Mufasa" (2024), will bring his "legendary charisma, unmistakable voice and storytelling power" to the show, connecting guests to the classic story in a fresh and bold way. According to Disney Cruise Line, Khan isn't simply reading lines but "infusing the skies with his signature charisma, turning a fireworks show into a full-blown cinematic event at sea".

"The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky" promises to be a mesmerizing experience, blending stunning pyrotechnics, dramatic lighting, and iconic music from the beloved film. Guests can expect to hear reimagined versions of classic songs such as "Circle of Life," "Hakuna Matata," "He Lives in You," and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?". The musical score features the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the harmonies of South Africa's Ndlovu Youth Choir. The show will be featured on select evenings during three and four-night sailings aboard Disney Adventure.

Khan expressed his excitement about the project, stating, "‘The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky' is a tribute to the power of family and community and perfectly mirrors the magic that those vacationing onboard the Disney Adventure will experience". He added, "I can't wait for fans and families to join in this beautiful celebration of the circle of life".

Sarah Fox, VP and regional general manager, Disney Cruise Line Southeast Asia, emphasized that Khan's involvement reflects Disney Cruise Line's commitment to creating experiences that resonate with regional audiences while staying true to the brand.

This news arrives as anticipation builds for Khan's on-screen comeback in the action thriller "KING," scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026. Directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously directed Khan in the blockbuster "Pathaan," "KING" is expected to be a high-octane action spectacle. The film also marks the theatrical debut of Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan, and boasts a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Rani Mukerji.

The release date announcement for "KING" has generated considerable buzz, with many seeing it as a confident move by the filmmakers. While the film will face competition from Hollywood heavyweights like "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Dune: Part Three," industry insiders are optimistic about its potential, with some predicting it could cross ₹1000-crore mark. Principal photography for "KING" began in May 2025, with filming taking place in Mumbai and Warsaw. The film's soundtrack and score are being composed by Anirudh Ravichander and Sachin–Jigar.
