Rani Mukerji and Delhi Police Unite: Empowering and Protecting Girls and Women in the Capital.

Mumbai, January 31, 2026 – Actress Rani Mukerji, celebrated for her portrayal of the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in the "Mardaani" franchise, has joined forces with the Delhi Police to promote awareness about the safety and protection of girls and women in the national capital. This collaboration arrives alongside the release of "Mardaani 3," the latest installment in the hit film series, which released in theaters worldwide on January 30.

Mukerji, who is reprising her role as a cop for the third time, expressed her admiration for female Indian police officers. "I think it's a huge privilege and a huge honour for me to be playing one of them, a woman in uniform,” she said. She also lauded their extraordinary service, acknowledging the challenges they face daily and the crimes they solve.

The actress emphasized the fundamental right to safety for every girl in the country, stating, "Safety is not a privilege. It is a right, and no girl in this country should grow up learning fear before freedom". She further added, "A society is judged by how it protects its women, and the police stand on the front line of that promise".

Mukerji saluted the Delhi Police for their dedication and resilience in ensuring the safety of women and girls across the city. She highlighted the responsibility, courage, and compassion embodied by every uniform and conveyed that women should feel confident, not concerned, when stepping out of their homes. "When a woman steps out of her home, she should feel confident, not concerned and the Delhi police force is always vigilant to take care of every girl,” Mukerji stated.

The actress underscored the importance of women feeling secure and supported by the law and the police force. "The uniform stands with you like a protective cloak around you. A nation cannot move forward while its women look over their shoulders," she asserted.

"Mardaani 3" sees Mukerji's character, Shivani Shivaji Roy, now with the National Investigation Agency in Delhi, tackling another dark and brutal reality of society. This time, Shivani is in a race against time to save 93 young missing girls, highlighting the heinous crime happening against girls in the country. The film delves into the issue of the kidnapping of young girls aged 8-9 years from low-income families, exposing a specific reason behind these abductions.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, "Mardaani 3" continues the franchise's legacy of impactful, issue-based storytelling. The film also stars Janaki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad in pivotal roles. Aayush Gupta, known for "The Railway Men," has written the film.

Rani Mukerji's collaboration with the Delhi Police highlights her commitment to women's safety, echoing the themes explored in the "Mardaani" series. This partnership serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting women and girls and ensuring they can live without fear.
