Vijay Sethupathi, the acclaimed actor and producer, has recently shared his perspective on the importance of money and his continued pursuit of it. In a candid conversation with Gulte Pro, Sethupathi addressed how his relationship with money has evolved over the years, stating that his pursuit of money remains unchanged.

Sethupathi, known for his honest and straightforward approach, emphasized the fundamental role of money in providing security and happiness. He explained, "Money is ultimate. Everybody needs money. I have seen how people's masks fall off for money. It gives security, and it brings happiness. My relationship with money hasn't changed, I still chase it". He further added that he works diligently and strives to deliver quality work, as this is essential for being compensated well.

For Sethupathi, this pursuit is deeply rooted in his personal experiences and the desire for survival, shaped by years of understanding the implications of financial instability. When asked whether work or money brings him greater happiness, he responded that work provides more happiness. However, he clarified that comparing happiness with money is not appropriate, as money is a basic necessity, like food.

Despite reportedly having a net worth exceeding Rs 150 crore, the actor maintains that there is nothing wrong with chasing money, viewing it as a fundamental requirement. He is currently enjoying the success of his recently released film, 'Gandhi Talks', a thriller that has garnered praise from audiences. The film is a social drama about a businessman whose life changes suddenly. His business collapses and he faces personal losses. Simultaneously, an unemployed man and a pickpocket plan to rob the businessman's house, and the film revolves around what happens when these three meet. The film conveys human emotions without dialogue.

Sethupathi's filmography includes the popular Hindi-language series "Farzi," a crime thriller where he stars alongside Shahid Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora. The series, created by Raj & DK, tells the story of a disillusioned artist who decides to create counterfeit money.

Vijay Sethupathi's remarks highlight a practical and grounded perspective on wealth, emphasizing its importance for security and well-being, while also acknowledging the intrinsic value and satisfaction derived from meaningful work.
