Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai Actor Saanand Verma Reacts To Comparison Between Subhangi Atre And Shilpa Shinde
In the world of television, where characters often become household names, the debate surrounding the portrayal of Angoori Bhabhi in "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai!" has been a long-standing topic of discussion. Saanand Verma, a popular actor from the show, has recently shared his perspective on the comparisons between Subhangi Atre and Shilpa Shinde, both of whom have played the iconic character.
Speaking to IANS, Verma emphasized that audiences connect more with characters than with the actors who portray them. When asked if viewers might get confused between Shinde and Atre's versions of Angoori, Verma drew a distinction between cinema and television. He explained that while people go to the cinemas to watch actors, they tune into television serials for the characters. According to Verma, Angoori's enduring popularity stems from the audience's love for the character itself, regardless of who plays her.
Verma praised both Shinde and Atre for their unique contributions to the role. He acknowledged Shinde's original portrayal and Atre's efforts in keeping the character alive for many years. He believes that comparing the two is pointless, as each actor brings something special to the table, and the audience appreciates sincerity. "Shilpa Shinde did a wonderful job, and Shubhangi Atre carried the character beautifully for many years. Shilpa's return has only increased excitement. Comparing artists is pointless. Every performer brings something unique, and the audience appreciates sincerity," Verma stated.
Vidisha Srivastava, who plays Anita Bhabhi in the show, also shared her experiences of working with both Shinde and Atre. She mentioned that she enjoyed a good rapport with Atre during their time working together. Srivastava also found Shinde to be easy to work with, praising her chemistry with colleagues. "I had seen and heard about Shilpa ji's chemistry with her colleagues. When I started working with her, I came to believe that working with her is actually really comfortable. She is a nice lady. I am praising her on her face that I am enjoying working with her," Srivastava said.
"Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai!", a Hindi-language sitcom, premiered on March 2, 2015, and revolves around two neighboring couples where the husbands are attracted to each other's wives. The show has garnered widespread acclaim and is inspired by the 1990s sitcom "Shrimaan Shrimati".
In 2016, the show's director, Shashank Bali, noted that the show's ratings had declined when Atre replaced Shinde. However, he also mentioned that they had recovered the original ratings. The show has maintained its popularity over the years, with viewers appreciating the characters and the actors who bring them to life.
