Sivakarthikeyan's political action drama Parasakthi, which hit theaters on January 10, 2026, is heading to the digital space. After a successful theatrical run, the film is slated to begin streaming on ZEE5 from February 7, 2026. While an official confirmation from the makers or the platform is still awaited, the film's listing has been spotted on ZEE5's website, confirming its digital release.

Directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Aakash Bhaskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner, Parasakthi is set primarily in the late 1950s and early 1960s, a period marked by intense political and cultural debates in Tamil Nadu. The film explores the anti-Hindi imposition protests in Tamil Nadu, with Sivakarthikeyan portraying a railway worker drawn into politics, facing intense ideological clashes and powerful dialogues on linguistic pride. The story follows two brothers, Chezhiyan (Sivakarthikeyan) and Chinnadurai (Atharvaa), as they lead a student movement opposing the imposition of Hindi as an official language, confronting governmental policies and societal conflicts along the way.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela (in her Tamil debut), with Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, and Papri Ghosh in supporting roles.

Parasakthi delves into themes of linguistic identity, student activism, patriotism, and the socio-political climate of 1960s Madras. The narrative explores questions of language, identity, and self-respect set against the politics of the time. As social barriers and everyday challenges faced by ordinary citizens become increasingly evident, Chinnadurai finds himself drawn into the movement his brother has consciously stepped away from. Running parallel to their journey is the presence of an intelligence officer closely monitoring the group's activities.

The film has music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran, and editing by Sathish Suriya. The production team includes Milind Rau as second unit director and post-production head, with action sequences choreographed by Supreme Sundar. Lyrics are contributed by Yugabharathi, Ekadesi, Arivu, Kaber Vasuki, and Jayashree Mathimaran, while Madhan Karky and Shan Karuppusamy have written additional dialogues.

Parasakthi was released in theaters on January 10, 2026, coinciding with Pongal. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
