This acquisition may pave the way for Jean-Philippe Mateta's potential £30 million move to Milan, with whom Palace are reportedly in talks. Mateta has expressed his desire to leave the club. Wolves, meanwhile, are reportedly targeting Southampton striker Adam Armstrong and Marseille midfielder Angel Gomes as potential replacements.

In other news, Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Sunderland defender Lutsharel Geertruida. Geertruida is currently on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig. Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement with Geertruida, and the player is keen on the move, being familiar with Liverpool boss Arne Slot from their time together at Feyenoord.
