Naga Chaitanya is poised to return to the digital screen with the second season of the horror-thriller series Dhootha. Following the success of the first season, which marked Chaitanya's OTT debut in 2023, anticipation is high for what the new season will bring.

Dhootha, created and directed by Vikram Kumar, revolves around Sagar, a journalist entangled in a web of supernatural events. Sagar, portrayed by Naga Chaitanya, is a morally ambiguous character who finds himself haunted by newspaper clippings that foretell tragic and fatal incidents involving those around him. As a series of crimes unfolds, suspicion falls on Sagar, forcing him to investigate the source of these ominous predictions while confronting his own dark past. The screenplay for Dhootha 2 has been completed, and the series is currently in pre-production in Hyderabad. According to reports, filming is expected to commence in the latter half of 2026, after Naga Chaitanya completes his current project, Vrushakarma. Makers are reportedly taking extra care to ensure that the new season lives up to the standards set by the first.
