Apoorva Lakhia Shares Behind-the-Scenes Photos with Salman Khan from 'Battle of Galwan' Project.

Director Apoorva Lakhia recently shared behind-the-scenes snapshots with Salman Khan from the sets of their upcoming war drama, "Battle of Galwan," igniting excitement among fans. The film, produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films and directed by Lakhia, is based on the real-life events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, a significant military confrontation between India and China.

"Battle of Galwan" aims to depict a defining chapter in Indian military history, set against the backdrop of the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. The story revolves around the courage, restraint, discipline, and sacrifice displayed by Indian soldiers during the conflict, highlighting the physical and emotional challenges they faced in the harsh terrain at an altitude of over 15,000 feet. Salman Khan portrays an Indian Army officer in the film, marking his first full-fledged role in uniform. The film is reportedly inspired by India's Most Fearless 3, a book chronicling real-life acts of bravery by Indian soldiers. Chitrangda Singh plays a key role alongside Salman Khan in the movie.

Lakhia's shared snapshots offer a glimpse into the camaraderie between the director and the lead actor, fueling anticipation for the film's release. The director has called Salman Khan his "main man". The images quickly went viral, with fans expressing their enthusiasm for the project and praising the duo's collaboration.

Adding a heartwarming touch to the film, Shabir Ahluwalia and Kanchi Kaul's children, Azai and Ivaar, are set to make their debut in "Battle of Galwan," playing the on-screen kids of Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh. They first appeared in the recently released song "Maatrubhumi". Lakhia explained that casting Azai and Ivaar was both a personal and professional decision, given his long-standing relationship with their parents and Salman Khan's comfort level with them.

The makers of "Battle of Galwan" have already released the song "Maatrubhoomi," offering a glimpse into the personal life of Salman Khan's character, transitioning from family moments to the stark realities of the battlefield. The song features Azai and Ivaar, alongside Salman Khan.

"Battle of Galwan" commenced shooting in Ladakh in September 2025, with many key action sequences already completed. The film is currently in post-production and is targeting a mid-2026 release.
