Global rap superstar Snoop Dogg is set to visit Swansea for the first time since becoming a co-owner of Swansea City Football Club in July 2025. The acclaimed artist will be in attendance at the Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday, February 24, for the Championship home game against Preston North End, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm.
Snoop Dogg's involvement with Swansea City began in July 2025, when he joined the club's ownership group, a consortium that also includes former Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modrić and US TV host Martha Stewart. The rapper's move into club ownership generated considerable excitement, with many anticipating that his global profile would help boost the club's reach and commercial performance.
Snoop Dogg has expressed his enthusiasm for his upcoming visit. "I know it has been a long time coming, but I cannot wait to finally make my first visit to Swansea City and be among all the YJBs for our game against Preston," he stated. He also conveyed his excitement about experiencing the atmosphere at the Swansea.com Stadium, particularly during a night game. "From the moment we talked about me becoming an owner, I have been looking forward to the chance to be with you all at the Swansea.com Stadium," he said. "I have heard so many great things about the atmosphere, especially when we play under the lights".
During his visit, Snoop Dogg is expected to make an appearance on the pitch before the game, where he will lead supporters in a pre-match fan display. In addition to attending the match, the 21-time Grammy nominee and four-time Emmy award winner will also take the opportunity to visit local community areas to meet supporters and experience life in the city and region.
When Snoop Dogg formally joined the club, he emphasized the importance of the club's location in a working-class area. He stated that "The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me... This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me". He is eager to experience his first taste of action under the lights at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The announcement of Snoop Dogg's visit has been met with excitement from fans and the club alike. Swansea City chief executive Tom Gorringe stated, "It is very exciting for us as a football club to formally welcome Snoop Dogg as a co-owner and investor into Swansea City... We are delighted he believes that being part of Swansea City is the right way to realise that ambition... Dogg is passionate about this project and helping us continue to raise the profile of the club to as wide an audience as possible".
Snoop Dogg's foray into football club ownership follows a growing trend of celebrities investing in sports teams. Swansea will hope that Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, can use his large social media presence to boost the club's profile as it seeks to return to the Premier League.
