Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza's "Sitaare Zameen Par," a spiritual successor to "Taare Zameen Par," continues its impressive performance at the box office, nearing the ₹150 crore mark in India after its third weekend. The film has earned ₹148.80 crore net in the domestic market.

The movie experienced a surge in occupancy, particularly during evening shows, demonstrating its enduring appeal. According to Sacnilk, "Sitaare Zameen Par" earned ₹6.25 crore on its third Sunday, bringing the total closer to ₹150 crore in India across all languages.

Despite a slight dip in collections during the second week, the film rebounded strongly, earning ₹4.75 crore on its third Saturday, which was a 90 percent increase from the previous day. The film's worldwide gross stands at an impressive ₹217.50 crore, with ₹164.80 crore from India and over $6 million from overseas.

"Sitaare Zameen Par" has been well-received, with urban centers driving its business. The film's success is notable considering the competition from new Bollywood releases and regional and international cinema. It has maintained a stronghold at the box office, proving its staying power.

The movie's box office journey showcases a day-by-day performance breakdown, highlighting its strong momentum. The film has surpassed the lifetime India collections of Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha" and "Ghajini" and is expected to surpass "Thugs of Hindostan" soon. Only four Aamir Khan films remain ahead of it: "Dangal," "PK," "Dhoom 3," and "3 Idiots".

"Sitaare Zameen Par," directed by RS Prasanna, has garnered ₹217.5 crore globally in 16 days, with overseas collections of ₹51.7 crore. By day 16, the movie had collected ₹142.55 crore, with its Tamil version earning ₹74,00,000 and its Telugu variant earning ₹44,00,000.

The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, had a production budget of ₹90 crore. After including marketing and publicity, the film's total cost is under ₹150 crore. Having already earned more than that through domestic collections alone, "Sitaare Zameen Par" is considered a box office success.

The movie's strong performance is a welcome sign for Aamir Khan, whose previous films, "Thugs of Hindostan" and "Laal Singh Chaddha," were box office failures. "Sitaare Zameen Par" has not only crossed the ₹200 crore mark worldwide but has also become the fourth-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, behind "Chhaava," "Housefull 5," and "Raid 2".

"Sitaare Zameen Par" is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film "Champions". The film follows a suspended basketball coach who is required to perform community service by helping a team of players with disabilities prepare for a tournament.
